Eric’s Priorities

“If you want to see a change, you must do the work.
We are working for a change within our community.”

Job Creation
The City of Akron has struggled with unemployment rates for several years.
Mr. Eric believes that he can help with job creation and job training in The City of
Akron.  For several years, Mr. Eric has been helping with job placement and
teaching the skills to become business owners.

Reduce Gun Violence
Studies show gun violence is increasing in Akron at an alarming rate. Mr. Eric
wants to address the spike in the violence by spreading awareness to the
concern and education on gun control. Mr. Eric plans to create allies within the
Akron Police Department and communities to reduce violence within The City of
Akron.

Housing
Quality housing is a major concern in The City of Akron. There is a scarcity of
availability in affordable housing. Several of the available housing in Akron are in
poor condition and have been considered “not cost effective” to update. Mr. Eric
wants to work to increase housing support for everyone, including Veterans and
low-income individuals and families.

Youth Engagement
Too often, our youth are looked at as “the problem” instead of being viewed
as what they truly are, “our future”. It is important to teach our youth about
important values and morals early in their lives. Mr. Eric’s goal is to build up our
youth, teach them about the importance of voting, give them a safe space in our
community, teach them their voice matters by getting them involved in the
community.
